Today was the most fun we've had since we got here! Because it was
windy today, the staff allowed us to spend our time inside today.
It was an answer to prayer since we really can't play together outside.
Right away, Katie began laughing and playing with us. Since we were
in a room she's already familiar with, she wasn't distracted (like
when we're outside). We were also able to have her in less clothes
and no hat. Being inside made such a difference!
We were able to spread a blanket on the ground and watch Katie roll
over from tummy to back and back to tummy. We also were able to let
her play with her toys while laying down so that she didn't get frustrated
when she dropped them. She really enjoyed the freedom of not being
held for the entire two hour visit.
Another benefit of today’s arrangement was being in the same
room with the Dresslers and letting Anelle and Katie watch each other.
They seemed to enjoy seeing what each other were up to and what cool
toys their parents had brought (on page
two there are some shots with them together).
As you can see from the pictures, we were able to do lots of bonding
today; almost as much as we have done during the five prior days.
Words can't describe how much fun we had laying on the floor and playing
with our baby girl. We saw so many sides of Katie (literally and figuratively)
that we have never seen before. This was truly the best day yet!
To round our perfect day, we spend the morning cleaning the apartment
and doing our third Russian lesson. After our visit at the baby house,
we stopped by the Ram Store (a western-style super market) to get
some food, then we had Jen and Jesse over for a large dinner with
all the foods we've missed from back home; spaghetti, French bread
and ice cream!
