Day 42- June 28th

Well, we didn't get any more news yet about our departure date. We are still praying that the passport will come through in time and that we won't have wasted the money we paid to change all the tickets. We are relaxed, however, and confident that God will take care of us either way.
Since we're leaving for Almaty tomorrow, we spent the day packing out bags. We are working hard to eliminate one of our bags because we'll have to handle our luggage a lot more on the way home. It is somewhat hard considering the gifts we received and the souvenirs we bought, but we did get rid of a lot of food and gifts for the orphanage that took up space.
To break up the long day, we took another nice walk through the park in yet another new area. It is so much fun discovering all the neat little nooks and crannies of the park, including all the hidden cafes and amusement rides. We posted some pictures below, including more shots of buildings near the river.

Playing in the suitcase is so much fun!

Katie was so board with her toys, so Mamma gave her spoons

She loved seeing her reflection in the shiney surfaces

Later, she hit herself in the head with a spoon so we took it away

Some final pictures of Kazakhstan on a beautiful day

The bridge on Republic St. and the Astana Tower

The structure standing over the road from the previous picture

Some standard Kazakh appartments; luckily our was much nicer

A cute resturant in the park that we had never seen before

We also found a bumper-cars ride we didn't know existed
