It was another day in heaven with our new baby. She smiled so much today and continually melted our hearts. We're learning so much about Katie and we're sure she's learning a lot about us. The biggest breakthrough today was finding that she would happily play in her crib and didn't have to be held all the time. We can move the crib next to the kitchen table and let her play while we get a chance to eat our meals together. We figure it’s also good for her to get a few minutes a day to just play without two people constantly ogling over her.
We took a nice morning walk today and headed to Jen and Jesse's apartment. Jen's parents were leaving so we wanted to goodbye. We also had been waiting to give the girls a chance to play together, although after staring at each other for only five minutes, they both conked out. Oh well; there's always another day.
Well, that's about it for us. When you sit around the house all day, there's not a ton to talk about. We're just continually amazed at what God has done for us through Katie. Often when she's asleep and we're reading or working on e-mails (like we did before we got her), we quickly forget that she's here; it's so exciting to go peek in her crib to “pinch” ourselves and remember that the dream is a reality!
