Day 22- June 8th
COURT DAY!

Praise God! We received a favorable ruling today! See our June 8th update letter for more information about the court hearing. We have posted some pictures below from the court house and the judge’s chambers where the hearing took place.
Going to the baby house after our court hearing was so exciting because we finally knew that we were officially Katie’s parents. We’re only sad we can’t take her home yet. We still have to wait another 14 days. =(
Katie was in rare form today. At first, she was very happy (maybe she realized how happy we were); she couldn’t stop smiling at us! Apparently all the excitement made her tired because within 45 minutes, she was conked-out. It was so much fun watching her sleep today, especially because we knew nothing could stand between us now.
After her long snooze, we both got to be there and watch her eyes open up and look around. We feel so good about being the first thing she sees when she wakes up. Hopefully it will help reinforce that we’re her Mommy and Daddy, although we’re pretty sure she already knows.
On the way home we saw more camels and lots of dancing girls. They were all heading to a dress rehearsal at the stadium near our house. We hope that on Friday we will be able to attend all of these festivities for Astana Day.
We have lots more info posted in our update letter from today so take a moment and read it if you get a chance.

Our first "official" family photo

Katie seemed to sence our excitement today and was happy

Daddy's sunglasses were a big hit today...

until we tried to take them away. Can anyone say "princess"?

Isn't she cute in her outfit from Aunt Amanda?

Katie even got some laughing in today

"Mommy loves playing patty-cake with me!"

Katie instantly knew which end of our water bottle to suck on

We both got to be there when Katie woke up from her nap today
