Day 12 - May 29th
We had a fun day walking around the city with Erken and Dinara. We went to a government plaza, then to a large baby mall where we got a great little hat for Katie. After that we got pizza at a small cafe where Erken and Dinara insisted we try a "Kazakh Cognac". After we politely agreed to try "a sip" we asked Dinara what the alcohol content was and she told us 40%! It was definitly a new expereince for us.
After lunch, we went to a classy shopping mall and had fun browsing through the shops. We found a book store where we bought a couple childrens books in Russian. We also found a great coffee table picture book of Astana but it was about $80! After all the tourist activities, we came home and now we're sharing our internet connection with Jen and Jesse because no one paid the bills for their phone line at their apartment.
