Day 9 - May 26th
Today was a pretty uneventful day here in Kazakhstan. We slept in a little this morning (till 7:00) and then worked on replying to emails most of the morning. Finally it was time to go visit our sweet little Katie. When they brought her out to us today, she was not in her hat or her jacket yet so we got to put both of them on her. It is nice to be able to do some of the normal things that most parents just take for granted. It was a beautiful day again in Kazakhstan so we went outside and found a nice quite place to play with Katie. (That is kind of a hard thing to do because there are now four families plus their interpreters in the yard every day during the visiting hours from 2-4.) Her first hat of the day kept falling in her face (she does not like to have her eyes covered) so we switched to a cute little bennie and she was much happier.
She was pretty tired from the very beginning today but we were able to keep her awake till 3:00 which we have come to realize must be her normal nap time. She slept soundly in Daddy's arms until Mommy just had to steal her back at 3:45. She woke up slowly, as is Katie fashion, and we had a few minutes to play before it was time to go back inside and say goodbye. 4:00 is always the hardest part of the day for us. The rest of the evening, we just spent at home updating the website and eating a nice dinner together.

Katie is always so happy when she comes from her room...

but today she was also pretty tired
