Arrival Home - July 6th

Here are the pictures from our arrival at San Francisco Intl. Airport where all our friends and family were waiting to meet Katie. Since we were busy saying hi to everyone, our pictures are mainly from before and after our arrival, however our friend Tim took lots of pictures of the "reunion". Click here to visit his page and see all the great pictures he took.
Since this is the last post from our trip, we thought we would include the top 10 list of things we will miss from Kazakhstan (a follow up to the top 10 things we missed from home). We hope you enjoy, and that through this list, you might understand a little bit more about Katie's home country.

TOP 10 THINGS WE WILL MISS FROM KAZAKHSTAN
10. Fanta; Coke-a-cola’s orange flavored soft drink is a favorite in Kazakhstan.
9. Plasma Screens;
Every grocery store, shopping mall and airport terminal was flooded with big, beautiful plasma monitors.
8. Fresh French bread for only 30 cents;
You can't beat the fresh French bread from the Ramstore, especially when it's cheap.
7. The Yogurt;
Yogurt in Kazakhstan is the richest, creamiest treat you've ever tried. Off all the flavors, we like Apple the best!
6. Being in a country where every citizen is proud of their nation and supportive of their president;
That says it all!
5. Architecture;
Every new building has incredible architecture whether it is structural or simply cosmetic.
4. Hospitality;
Never in our lives have we experienced such generous hospitality; too bad our culture doesn't value it as much.
3. Beautiful language;
Russian and Kazakh are such wonderful languages. We will truly miss hearing it spoken.
2. Heated Towel Racks;
Every bathroom has a hot-water pipe that snakes outside the wall; it's so nice having a hot, dry towel.
1. The opportunity to share with Kazakh people about God's involvement in Katie adoption;
We wish we could do more.

"Wow, Momma and Daddy; these moving walkways are fun!"

One last family picture before meeting all the relatives and friends

Katie was excited to meet her Gpa and his funny hat

In fact, she enjoyed meeting everyone!

Katie liked her Grandpa's shirt

"Gramma's cheeks are fun to pull!"

Katie really liked meeting her Papa ...

but then she liked him even more once she saw what he had

"Hey Aunt Amanda, will you drive me to the mall someday?"

Katie and Caleb meet for the first time

"Uncle James has a really shiny thing around his neck"

"So you're Aunt Niki"
