Airport Arrival ...
On Tuesday, August 14th, we left Hanoi and flew to Ho Chi Minh City. We spent a very brief 6 hours in the hotel in HCMC and then were back in the air on our way home. After a quick layover in Hong Kong, we boarded our last plane and arrived in San Francisco 12 1/2 hours later. Katie, like the world traveler that she is, did great on the plane. She played, she slept, she ate and she was happy. Her little brother will do well to take some lessons from her. Eli was not so fond of the airplane to say the least. He fell asleep as we boarded the plane, slept for about an hour into the flight and then pretty much did not sleep again until about an hour before we landed. He would play happily for about 10 minutes and that was about it. When he would fall asleep, he would wake up screaming and arching his back every 2-3 minutes. It was great fun and the other people on the plane all loved us :-) (Yeah right!) When we finally landed, Eli was sound asleep and slept through customs and immigration. He didn't even wake up when he officially became a US citizen! Oh well.

A family of four on US soil at last!

Katie was a little overwhelmed by all the attention

We tried to get a family picture but...

it is pretty hard to get 4 people to all look at the camera

Great Grandma meets her first great-grandson

Ger and Grandma were so happy to meet Eli

It was so wonderful that Chesney brought Caleb because it really helped Katie to relax and have fun while she was a little overwhelmed at the airport.

Katie got a new purse from Great Grandma
that she really loves and carries everywhere now

Eli lunged back into Grandpa's arms. It was
so cute to see him choose who he wanted to go to.
