Back East 4th of July ...
This 4th of July we spent as the first day of our trip back east. Most of the morning and early afternoon we spent hanging out at Rick and Niki's house, then in the evening we went to Rick's great aunt's home. It was a beautiful, Tennessee style estate with an enormous back yard. It was a lot of fun getting to know some of their family and getting to experience a Southern-style July 4th.

Getting into the Knoxville, TN airport on our little jet

Rick and Niki's great house (it backs up to the creek)

Katie was so excited to play with everyone

Kevin rode Rick's moped around the block

Rick and Kevin had to capture one of the runaway goats

"Aunt Nini is the greatest!"

Katie LOVED the rope swing in their yard

GG has grown so much since Rick & Niki moved here

GG riding the tractor at Rick's Great Aunt's house

It was a great July 4th party with southern food!

Rick and Katie love playing together

Katie tried on someone's earrings

The tractor was a major fascination

GG's hair came out of the pigtails and stood straight up

Katie eating some homemade ice cream

What a beautiful neighborhood! (Don't worry mom and
dad, we haven't committed to moving out here yet)

In addition to the earrings, Katie found other things
to try on as well

Saying goodbye to all of Katie's new friends; we didn't do
any fireworks because they said it was too dry (?!)
